Sharon
Robinson, President
Active
in landuse development, Ms. Robinson chaired the DC Chamber
of Commerce's Economic Development Committee and worked on
initiatives to increase public private partnerships.
While serving as a trustee with the National Minority
Business Coalition, Ms. Robinson helped the organization put
on a seminal business opportunity fair to encourage prime
and subcontractor relationship development.
Further, she worked with the District’s Office of
Contracts and Procurement and the DC Council in shaping
policies, which promote local small business development. A
certified public relations counselor, Ms. Robinson served as
trustee of Greater Leadership Washington and headed the
organization’s communications committee.
The
Greater Washington Urban League recognized Ms. Robinson for
her work in founding Washington’s Black and Jewish
Women’s Dialogue, an organization dedicated to improving
relationships between these historic allies.
She received the DC Public School Volunteer Award for
her work in mentoring students.
Her continued interest in ethical work practices,
prompted her to produce
“Unveiling the Soul of Leadership” with the
Greater Leadership Washington and the Newseum, which aired
on the local PBS affiliate.
She is a trustee with Washington Parks and People and
the Lincoln Theatre and provides pro bono services to
nonprofits dealing with healthcare disparity.
Ms.
Robinson has a master’s degree in education, is a
certified yoga instructor and an APR, a certified public
relations professional.
